Students interested in a career in law can obtain knowledge and experience in law office procedures, preparing legal correspondence, and assisting clients. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience as a volunteer intern and learn New Jersey Practice and Procedure. Build your resume and obtain marketable skills. You will handle a client's file and learn details on running a successful law practice. This will not be a brief writing and photocopying clerkship. Mercer County Superior Court volunteer Municipal Mediators Mercer County Superior Court is seeking volunteer Municipal Mediators. Mediators do virtual mediations mostly in the evenings for the Mercer County Municipal Courts. Mediators are required to complete an 18-hour mediation training that is offered virtually through the Administrative Office of the Courts. Volunteers are also required to complete a fingerprint background check at the courthouse in Trenton. There are no costs associated with applying, background checks, or trainings. Szaferman Lakind part-time Document Scanner Job Szaferman, Lakind needs part-time Document Scanners working between core business hours of 8:30am and 5:30pm. This position entails scanning records into an internal database. Ideal candidate would be fast, accurate, and reliable. Candidates will work in small teams in sorting, scanning, and prepping documents. Additional responsibilities assigned include, filling supplies in production and kitchen areas and assisting with front desk coverage for clients when needed. Core Office Hours: MON-FRI - 8:30am-5:30pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Prepare documents for scanning by removing anything holding individual sheets together, like paper clips or staples and sorting in the correct order; Place physical records into the scanner in the right orientation and pressing the right buttons to initiate the scan and confirm the scan is complete (check the quality of the digital copy); Compile scanned documents back in the correct order and data entry; Report Progress to Supervisor on the overall progress of the project; Must be able to lift and carry up to 25-pound boxes
Perform additional duties as assigned as well as coverage for the front desk reception when needed. Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour, Expected hours: 12 – 24 per wee

The intern will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, supportive tasks, and customer service duties in connection with the Pretrial Services Unit in the Criminal Division.
